The independent healthcare regulator Monitor has announced Royal Surrey has been granted Foundation Trust status. As a foundation trust the Royal Surrey will be able to make quicker decisions about how we want to develop new services and, more importantly, retain financial gains.
Responding to the news, Anne Milton, MP for Guildford and Shadow Health Minister, says:
“Throughout 2006 we were fighting to save Royal Surrey and here we are 3 years later celebrating its foundation status”
“This is wonderful news for people in Guildford and the surrounding area. All of the staff at every level have worked incredibly hard to achieve this and I am absolutely thrilled for them This goes to show what a difference everyone can make. I look forward to working closely with our new Foundation Trust in the future”.
