Following the newly formed Care Quality Commission’s annual health check, the Royal Surrey County Hospital is the only general acute hospital in the South East Coast to have its quality of services rated as ‘Excellent’.
The report puts Royal Surrey in the top quarter of acute hospital trusts across the country and as a result the has received a personal letter of congratulation from NHS Chief Executive Care Quality Commission Chairman. In addition the Trust scored a ‘Good’ for the second year running for its financial management.
Anne Milton, Guildford’s MP said, “Congratulations must go to all the staff who will have worked very hard to get this superb result not just for the hospital but for all the local people who use the services there. Royal Surrey has also seen dramatic reductions in rates of hospital infections. I am delighted to see all the hard work pay off with this excellent report. I receive many letters of support for the Royal Surrey and admiration for the staff and the care they give to local people. Even though there are occasions when things don’t go well Royal Surrey is clearly leading the way in the South East.”
